The sensor requires an installation height of at least 46cm, since the detection range is 45cm below the sensor and therefore the ground must not be detected.
If it is not possible to guarantee an installation height of 46cm to the motorhome alarm system, the sensor can be mounted at an angle by means of the supplied angle adapters, in order to easily lift the detection beam. Please observe the instructions for correct drilling when using the angle adapters.
The sensor should be installed on the side of the door lock in order to optimally monitor the area in front of the door, especially in front of the door lock. The optimum installation height is approx. 50 cm below the door lock.
When inserting the alarm sensor and the flash LED, make sure that it is adequately sealed against moisture. Sealants are also used to seal feedthroughs for solar systems or satellite antennas.
If you have an electric footstep, always drive in at night to prevent a potential burglar from stepping on it. Nevertheless, you should consider the step when installing the alarm sensor.
With the angle adapter, the sensor can also be used in any oblique or rounded components such as the side skirt, if the hole cannot be drilled at an angle of 90 degrees. If possible, the sensor should always be used horizontally and therefore at an angle of 90 degrees to the outer wall. If it is not possible to install the sensor at a height of at least 46cm, the supplied angle adapters allow the sensor to be mounted at a slightly slanting angle, thus raising the sensor detection lobe slightly until it does not touch the ground.
Drill horizontally and at an angle of 90 degrees to the outer wall of your vehicle.
Important: When using one of the angle adapters, you have to drill the bore slightly obliquely in order to be able to use the sensor at an angle! If you use the 11 degree angle adapter, you have to drill in approx. 101 degree (90 degree + 11 degree). Please observe the instructions for drilling in the operating instructions.
1) Is the staircase retracted so that the sensor does not detect it? Enter the stairs. This should basically be retracted at night, in order to make it easier for burglars.
2) Is the beam of the sensor set so that it does not touch the ground? Distance to the ground> 46cm? Use one of the supplied angle adapters to "position" the slant and thus adjust it optimally. For further information, please refer to the operating instructions.
3) Could the sensor be used only with high pressure? The sensor must not be subjected to pressure through the bore hole, as it is already detected. Use a round file around the hole about 1mm larger to file. The bore should be slightly enlarged, especially with slightly inclined plastic shoulders or using the angle adapters.
4) Is the arrow of the sensor pointing upwards as described in the operating instructions?Gently push the sensor back out and reinsert it with the arrow pointing upwards.

1) This is not a defect! With an LED, light creep currents are sufficient to make them glow. For this purpose, even if other current-carrying cables run next to one another.

The system is designed to secure a door. For several reasons, we have decided to expand the system for 2 or 3 doors. The background of this system is that you can be awakened in an emergency during sleep and can react immediately. In case of emergency, every second counts!
If you use more than one system to provide extra protection for the front car doors, the alarm boxes should be installed close to the respective doors. This is because you can recognize the alarm sound immediately which door alarm was triggered. Especially in the case of vehicles with several sleeping possibilities, each occupant is immediately able to recognize the affected door. A central control unit, with display for the respective doors, may not be immediately visible from every sleeping place. Just when you start "sleepy" with an alarm, you are more quickly able to assess the situation and react as quickly as possible. The reading of a "small display on a central alarm box" is only disadvantageous in this situation.

If the systems are installed close to the respective doors, you only need a 12V connection in this area and the cable routing for the sensor and the flash LED can be selected optimally.
Damage and sabotage alarm
The system is sabotage-safe and immediately signals a sabotage alarm, e.g. one of the cables for the sensor or the flash LED is severed. Whether this is caused by willful damage or by accident, it may be that this is not immediately repairable. If individual doors are completely separate from each other for each door, this can offer further advantages in the event of damage to individual components, such as the sensor or one of the cables, since the remaining systems can continue to operate without restriction.

Central ON / OFF switch
However, a central alarm main switch can be used which activates all installed systems via this central switch. Thus, all alarm systems can continue to operate e.g. From the sleeping area or an existing central control unit can be switched on and off very comfortably. The advantage here is that the alarm boxes can be hidden in this case because the on / off switch on the alarm box simply remains ON. If the system receives the 12V power supply via the main switch, all systems switch to ON and secure the respective doors.
A loud alarm siren is something for alarm systems that "AFTER a burglary" try to drive the burglar through a loud siren or the vehicle booster. The CaraWarn alarm system does not require a siren or horn because the system is designed to detect and report the possible burglar before a break-in. Evaluations of burglaries show that thieves want to remain unrecognized to have the surprise moment on their side. If you are recognized, whether by a person or an alarm system, the surprise factor is no longer on the side of the burglar and usually breaks off immediately. This requires no loud siren since the flash LED clearly and unambiguously indicates that an alarm system has been activated.
The alarm wake-up alarm of the CaraWarn alarm system is specifically designed to awaken all in the vehicle and is also perceptible in front of the door of the potential thief. A loud siren, which additionally neighbors unnecessarily from the sleep start does not need! Or would you like to be awakened by an alarm siren, because 50Meter further authorized an alarm system or even activated unauthorized at night?
For this reason, CaraWarn-Secure-Sleep has been specifically developed so that no loud alarm sirens are required!
The Secure-Sleep alarm system was developed to protect inmates in their sleep. However, the deterrent effect of the flash LED and the alarm sound on the burglar has the same effect when you are not in the motorhome, because the burglar now can not overlook how long he remains undisturbed. Due to the low power consumption of the Secure Sleep alarm system, the system can be used even when you are away for an extended period of time.
- Turn on the system before leaving the motorhome / caravan

This alarm system has been specially designed to help you sleep safely in your camper or caravan. Nevertheless, the deterrent effect has the same effect if you are not in your motorhome. Due to the low power consumption, the alarm system can remain activated without hesitation for a longer period of time. Switch on the alarm system as soon as you leave your camper or caravan and the flash LED will also deter possible burglars, even if you are not in the vehicle.
The detection angle of the sensor has been specifically selected so that it does not detect in the 90 degree or 180 degree angle, as this would detect any protruding attachment in the side wall of the bodywork and could lead to a false alarm. Due to the large number of camper van superstructures and attachments on or next to the door, an optimal detection range was chosen so that the sensor can be installed in every side wall or vehicle apron in the best possible way. Even when using the angle adapter, no person can remain unnoticed in the blind spot, especially not a possible burglar who is still moving.
With the supplied angle adapters, the detection range can be optimally adjusted. If there are attachments in the vicinity or if the distance to the ground is not sufficient, the detection area can be brought closer or further away from the vehicle by using one of the angle adapters.
